Investigation into proposed Greenstar takeover extended

The deal is subject to regulatory clearance

Panda Waste are on the verge of a takeover of Greenstar Pic:

The state’s competition watchdog has escalated its investigation into the proposed takeover of the country’s biggest waste group, Greenstar, by recycling group Panda Waste.

Panda announced in February it was acquiring Greenstar, but the deal is subject to regulatory clearance given the size of the companies.

It has now emerged that the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has told the parties it is extending its preliminary investigation into the deal.
