Intercom: ‘The sky genuinely is the limit’
At the tender age of 37, Des Traynor has already led the tech start-up he co-founded to unicorn status with a valuation of more than $1 billion. And he is far from finished, he tells Tom Lyons
Des Traynor, the co-founder of Intercom – which closed a $125 million series D round last week, giving the business a post-money valuation of $1.275 billion – apologises for being two minutes late to take my video call as he was delayed getting a coffee. It is 10am in San Francisco and Traynor looks the same as he always does, despite his company becoming one of just 200 start-ups in the world worth more than $1 billion.
