More than 20 potential buyers eye company’s assets, following collapse of a proposed Chinese partnership

More than 20 potential buyers are circling the assets of Irish renewable energy company Gaelectric as fears of a breakup and job losses at the company mount.

Companies including US energy giant AES and Irish power trader ElectroRoute are said to be circling certain assets of the company, with sources predicting that Viridian owner iSquared and French utility Engie are also likely to run the rule over the company.
