Companies in industries with low numbers of female managers should do more to tackle stereotypes, Ibec has said.

A study by the employers’ group found that the number of women in leadership roles in IT, manufacturing and engineering remained low. This was despite the proportion of female chief executives rising from 8 per cent in 2001 to 16 per cent in 2018.
