Johnson Control's takeover of Tyco couldn’t come at a worse time for Ireland’s reputation

America has a tax problem. It has laws requiring corporations to pay large amounts of tax on their profits. Ireland has no such problem. Corporations here, or ones that move here, can pay 12.5 per cent of their profits in tax. If they are really clever, they can pay a lot less.
