An unsavoury incident on a Dublin tram resulted in a case being taken by a summarily dismissed ticket inspector, writes Derek McKay
In a recent appeal to the Labour Court under the Unfair Dismissal Act, the case was heard of the summary dismissal of a ticket inspector who was allegedly involved in an altercation with a customer.
The case is most interesting in that it includes, in some detail, the use of CCTV.
The worker appealed the decision of the adjudication officer to the Labour Court in accordance with section 8(A) of the Unfair Dismissals Acts 1977...
