Hedge fund activity in Ireland will grow in the next couple of years as the number of funds increases and expands into new areas including loan origination, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Ireland services about 40 per cent of the world’s hedge funds and alternative asset management companies. As funds diversify away from liquid assets, such as equities, this will have a knock on effect for Ireland, according to Mike Greenstein, who heads PwC’s US alternative investment...
