Goldman Sachs eyes Nama's €4.7 billion Emerald and Ruby loans

More than half of portfolios are linked to commercial real estate

Goldman Sachs is weighing a bid for two Nama portfolios with a combined face value of €4.7 billion, sources have revealed.

Cerberus Capital Management, CarVal Investors LLC and Lone Star Funds are also said to be considering whether to bid for the loans.

The portfolios – known as Project Ruby and Emerald – will probably be sold for less than par by Nama. First-round bids are due tomorrow.
