Glanbia plans to acquire Donegal dairy firm

The dairy giant Glanbia has notified the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission of its intention to acquire Cold Chain Food Distributors, the Donegal dairy firm which trades under the Dairyland Cuisine brand.

Dairyland was set up in 1956 by brothers Patsy, Brendan, Gerry and Tommy Kiernan. Based in Letterkenny, it operates a food service business throughout the country, distributing products such as Organic For Us yogurts and milk, as well as Blenders sauces and Squeez juices.
