Gilmartin nets €18m in Trainline shares sale

She still holds onto stake valued at €40m

Businesswoman Clare Gilmartin has netted almost €18 million after cashing in part of her stake in an online train ticketing company.

Gilmartin, a 43-year-old University College Dublin graduate, is the chief executive of Trainline, whose shares began trading for the first time on the London Stock Exchange on Friday.

According to Trainline documents, Gilmartin had owned 2.9 per cent of the company immediately prior to its stock market listing. She sold 4.5 million Trainline shares...
