An independent expert accountant's report prepared by Joe Walsh on seven companies controlled by Gerry Barrett has admitted that the group had at its peak “secured debts of €698 million with the value of the underlying assets a fraction of this sum”.

In a separate affidavit the group of companies estimate the remaining underlying assets in the group, after selling off a number of key ones, is worth between €55 million and €60...
