France forging a new alliance

Attracting business, defending farming interests, and tapping the potential of the diaspora sound like a very Irish set of priorities – in fact, they’re what France’s new Minister of State for Foreign Trade Matthias Fekl plans to do

If Ireland is the gateway for US companies into Europe, then France is Ireland’s gateway to the continent. Trade between the two countries has spiked in recent years, with total Irish exports to France topping €10 billion.

Now, both sides want to develop it further. A key player in the process will be Matthias Fekl, France’s new Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad.
