Between the return from a year of hell for Novak Djokovic and a return from maternity leave for Serena Williams, the final grand slam of the year should finally put some order on the wonky seedings in tennis of late.

Djokovic, on the other hand, was simply playing terribly for over a year and suddenly remembered he’s an otherworldly player. The reasons for both seeing their seedings take a hammering couldn’t be more different, but...
