Financial software package aims to give renewable energy start-ups a profit boost

Academic-turned-entrepreneur Ray Alcorn co-founded UCC spin-out Exceedence four years ago with the aim of helping start-ups in the renewable energy sector to turn a profit.

“I was the director of a UCC research centre working in marine and offshore renewables,” said Alcorn. “I was seeing a lot of either bad or misleading technical and financial models, and it was hurting the sector. It was not inspiring confidence in investors.”
