It has been a particularly busy month for Kevin Bakhurst, managing director of RTE’s News and Current Affairs division.
On November 5, RTE confirmed that its daily current affairs TV show, Morning Edition, would not be returning in January. The axeing of the show was unexpected, but Bakhurst said the decision was “entirely driven by the need to save a relatively big sum of money from news next year”.
