European shares plunge amid concern over China crisis

Share trading is suspended as China further depreciates yuan

European shares have fallen sharply today after China accelerated the depreciation of the yuan.

The move hit currencies across the region hard and saw domestic stock markets tumble.

The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index and the eurozone’s blue-chip Euro STOXX index both fell around 3.3 per cent.
