Local fire safety entrepreneurs aim to put 30 per cent of Irish whiskey stocks under one roof; Bonded warehouse would span 20 acres
An international consortium is developing a €135 million whiskey storage facility in Westmeath to take advantage of the boom in Irish whiskey sales.
The project is being spearheaded by Vault Storage Limited, which counts local Mullingar businessmen Alan Wright and Ted Wright as directors. The pair also run Writech Group, which provides fire protection systems for distilleries.
It is being backed by an international consortium, but the identities of the investors are not being disclosed...
