EU clears Nama after builders' complaint
Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager says examination showed that Nama’s activities did not breach EU rules, and that it acted as a private operator would have done
The European Commission has found that financing deals for major developers by Nama did not breach state aid rules.
In a statement released this morning, however, European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager said: “Our assessment shows that Nama’s activities did not breach EU rules - it has acted as a private operator would have done, and in line with its objective to obtain the best possible financial return for the State and Irish taxpayers”....
