Egan’s UK fracking venture steps up checks after tremors

The UK Oil & Gas Authority advised that it was suspending works at Cuadrilla Resources' Lancashire venture following a record tremor measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale last Monday

The British industry regulator has halted works at the country’s first fracking venture following concerns over the latest earthquakes there.

“This should all reassure the regulators that we are able to restart operations safely and in an environmentally responsible manner as per the permissions already in place,” its spokesman said on Friday in response to questions.
