DP Energy, the Cork energy company founded by mother-and-son pair Maureen and Simon de Pietro, has secured planning permission for a €465 million wind and solar park in Australia.

The company, which made more than €30 million from the sale of its Irish wind farm portfolio to ESB and Bord Gáis in 2008, last week received development approval for the 375-megawatt clean energy project.
