Crowdfunding, a way of raising finance from a large number of individuals or institutional investors, may still be the new kid on the block, but a recent government consultation process shows the industry is keen to grow up.

The Department of Finance is considering a move to introduce a regulatory regime where none exists, and earlier this year it sought feedback from interested parties.
