CRH shrugs off US weather disruption

The building materials group now expects full-year earnings to come in at €3.35 billion, up from €3.15 billion last year and in line with what analysts had been expecting

Shares in building materials group CRH failed to receive much of a boost today from a trading update which showed growth in its main markets accelerating in the third quarter of the year. The group reported a 6 per cent increase in sales for the first nine months of this year to €19.9 billion. Underlying sales, which exclude the effects of acquisitions and disposals, were 3 per cent higher.
