Contego Sports gets ahead of the posse with €1.5 million fund

A patented head guard designed to protect rugby players from brain injuries has netted Galway start-up Contego Sports €1.5 million in funding from private investors and state agency Enterprise Ireland.

The company is close to finalising a deal with a distributor in South Africa, having already agreed distribution contracts for the N-Pro head guard in Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
