When Meath lifted the Christy Ring Cup last weekend the talking point was how on earth everybody in charge managed to get the score wrong.

It really should have been why this game, along with the Nicky Rackard and Lory Meagher finals, was happening on a June bank holiday weekend when most of the big guns in hurling hadn't even started their campaigns.
