The Central Bank is planning an information campaign to raise consumer awareness of credit reporting rules ahead of the launch of a much-delayed national debt database.

Legislation providing for the establishment of a central credit register was enacted in 2013, paving the way for a database of all debts to be set up. Since then, the establishment of the database, which will be populated by data supplied by lenders, has been marred by repeated delays...
