Business surveys pointing to Irish growth slowdown

New figures indicate that the global economic slowdown and Brexit worries that have hit the manufacturing sector of the economy are now starting to spread into the service sector

While the AIB Ireland Services PMI showed that activity in the service sector continued to grow in September, the index’s 53.1 reading was down from 54.6 in August and was the weakest growth figure for more than six years. It was also the fourth consecutive monthly drop in the index. Business confidence fell to the lowest level in eight years.
