Brexit uncertainty slowing down service sector

While new orders continued to increase, the rise was the smallest for three months, and new business from outside Ireland fell for the first time since November 2016

New figures show that the service sector of the economy continued to grow steadily last month, though there are signs thatBrexit uncertainty is having an impact on demand and confidence.

The AIB Ireland Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), compiled by research group Markit, came in at 55 in July, down from56.9 in June and the lowest figure for three months. Any number above 50 signals growth.
