Bernard Dunne is the IABI’s new high performance director

The Irish Sports Council will cut off over €1 million in funding to the Irish Amateur Boxing Association (IABI) within four weeks if it does not implement reforms.

It comes after a row in the amateur organisation about which boxer should be sent sent to the European Boxing Championships in Ukraine later this month.

The IABI’s new high performance director Bernard Dunne had recommended reigning national super heavyweight champion Martin Keenan, but this was ignored...
