Boardroom Briefing

3rd April, 2016
David McCann, Fyffes chairman

Fyffes has bought Canadian mushroom producer Highline for €98 million, acquiring 100 per cent of the equity and refinancing its existing debt.

According to a statement issued by Fyffes last Friday, it is funding the acquisition through new and existing bank debt.

Highline is the largest operator in the mushroom category in Canada, with retail accounting for three-quarters of its sales. Wholesale, food service and canning customers account for the balance.
