More than 500 million Yahoo account holders have had personal data stolen from the company’s servers by a “state-sponsored actor”, the company said.

The data breach was largely made up of names and email addresses, but also included some security information.

The incident, which happened two years ago but revealed last week, is thought to be the biggest known data breach ever, and comes as Yahoo finalises the sale of its internet...
