Will there be room at the inn for Bill Gates this Christmas? The Microsoft magnate is bidding on a five-star hotel owned by the Irish state.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is vying with the Hilton group to buy the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Boston, which is being sold by IBRC’s special liquidators.
