Rory McIlroy-backed group secures four-year agreement with NCAA to host basketball tournament

A charitable foundation backed by Rory McIlroy has secured a four-year agreement with the NCAA, the governing body of college sports in the United States, to host a basketball tournament in Belfast.

The Basketball Hall of Fame classic will be held in the SSE Arena, formerly known as the Odyssey Complex, this December.

Run by Sport Changes Life, the competition will see four US colleges compete in its first year, expanding to eight from 2018 onwards.
