Belfast start-up Yedup has the global hedge fund industry in its sights, having developed analytical software that can extract from social media information of use to traders on a second-by-second basis.

Established last February by Paul McWilliams and Martin Spollen, Yedup’s system can analyse 100,000 social media posts per second, generating information on investor and consumer views on companies, industries and financial services.
