Barrett’s Bartra puts forward social housing proposal to the government

Proposal may form part of Nama’s plans to develop 20,000 homes

Property developer Richard Barrett is believed to be going back to the government with a proposal to build thousands of social and affordable homes, a source said.

The Department of Environment, the Department of Finance and the Department of Social Protection have been engaging with a range of vested interests for almost a year, on off-balance sheet solutions to fund housing.
