A new investment fund founded by former Treasury Holdings co-founder Richard Barrett is backed by some €2 billion.

Bartra Capital, which is to invest in Irish housing, healthcare and renewable energy, has backers that include large sovereign wealth funds from Asia, the Middle East and Norway as well as family wealth, insurance and pension funds. Barrett’s own capital investment is thought to be substantial.
