Income from ticket sales reaches €1.7 million

After record ticket sales in 2016, Wexford’s annual opera festival will return to its pre-crisis run length next year. In 2009, the 65-year-old festival cut back its duration to 12 days from 18. From 2017 onwards, it will return to an 18-day run.

This year’s festival, which ran from October 26 to November 6, sold more than 23,000 tickets for 54 separate events, which ranged from evening performances to daytime operas and a gala night. Ticket sales income...
