AMP Capital, the €90 billion Australian hedge fund, has entered the bidding war for electricity utility company Viridian.

Viridian, which trades in the Republic as Energia, is one of the largest suppliers and generators of energy in the North, with a significant portfolio of wind farms and conventional electricity plants, including at Huntstown in Dublin.
