An Post in talks with German lender Sparkasse
A spokesperson for An Post said its focus is on growing its own financial services business, including a basic current account
An Post is to hold talks with the German lending giant Sparkasse as the semi-state company attempts to ramp up its financial services activities.
An Post confirmed it will meet with executives from Sparkasse in the coming weeks and will seek similar talks with other institutions about how it can grow its financial and retail activities as part of a plan to maintain the viability of the post office network.
