Amazon will take Cork wind farm’s entire electricity output

Amazon is to absorb nearly 20,000 homes’ worth of renewable energy capacity for its data centres as part of a single partnership deal announced last week with Invis Energy.

The web retail giant will purchase electricity directly from a wind farm in Esk, Co Cork to help fuel its fast-increasing energy demand from large data centres in Dublin.

The planned 23-megawatt wind farm will produce its renewable electricity exclusively for Amazon’s data centres in Ireland...
