Amazon and government in talks on EU Vat reform

Amazon sought the Irish government’s view on a major EU tax policy reform move that would make it and other online selling giants take a central role in stopping Vat fraud.

Amazon’s public policy director, Lesley Smith, confirmed to this newspaper that she met officials at the Departments of Finance and Revenue on the matter, the biggest reform of Europe’s Vat rules in two decades.
