Aldi to pay €11.50 per hour and create 400 new jobs

Aldi plans to pay a new minimum wage rate of €11.50 per hour from next February

Aldi said it will pay its employees a new minimum rate of €11.50 per hour while announcing plans to recruit more than 400 people next year to support its expansion.

The German discount retailer said the new rate, which will come into effect from February 1, 2016, represents an increase of 4.5 per cent on the entry-level pay rate for store assistants and 10 per cent for stock assistants and caretakers.
