The Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland is expected to make changes to its guidelines for brands after recent controversy.

Last month, this newspaper revealed that RTÉ was refusing to broadcast a Budweiser TV ad starring UFC champion Conor McGregor as it believed it breached the advertising code.

The campaign had been approved by CopyClear, the alcohol industry’s pre-vetting service for marketing, but RTÉ said the ASAI confirmed that the campaign did breach its code....
