Done deal:€6 million project funding

The Telecommunications, Software and Systems Group (TSSG) at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), in conjunction with a set of partners, has won €6 million in EU funding for its CogNet (Cognitive Networks) project aimed at developing fifth generation (5G) mobile network technology.

CogNet is the only Irish-led project of 15 projects approved and funded under Horizon 2020’s 5G public private partnership programme (5GPPP). The project officially launched...
