RTÉ is in a dangerous and difficult position. That’s the view of Mediatique, the international consultants whose report on the organisation was released last week.

The report commissioned by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) finds that RTÉ will shortly need “rescuing”. Seemingly its financial position is now “existential” and, without intervention, the closing of services will have to be on the agenda.
