The Future of Media Commission is missing vital input from the advertising sector as it looks at the financing and structure of our nation’s media outlets

The recently formed Future of Media commission has nine months to save the world. Or at least to report back to Catherine Martin, Minister for Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht.

It will look at the funding of media, its financing and structure along with best international practice. Our long-standing broadcasters and newspapers are under threat, not least from social media hoovering up advertising revenue.
