Making it Work

Wild Atlantic Health seeks to expand into Britain, South Africa and UAE

Jonathan Amm’s leukaemia diagnosis in 2017 motivated him to move from working with start-ups to setting up his own preventative health business

Jonathan Amm, founder of Wild Atlantic Health: ‘This time next year, I hope to be in at least 150 stores and have developed new supplement products.’

There was a personal reason behind Jonathan Amm’s desire to start his own business. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, and now living in Kinsale, Co Cork, Amm started Wild Atlantic Health after he was diagnosed with leukaemia.

The preventative health business provides home blood-testing services to identify nutrient deficiencies and other potential health problems and seeks to empower individuals to be better informed about their health.

“I headed up marketing for two companies in the Imperial Holdings Group and then left that to set up my own marketing and advertising agency. In 2008, my wife, who is a psychologist, suggested we move from South Africa to Cork,” Amm told the Business Post.
