From Bordeaux to Mayo, the clans who rule the wine world are built to last

Some time around 1640, and for the next century, Château de Fieuzal (today a Classed Growth in Bordeaux) was owned by the Rochefoucauld family, whose members included the famed writer François de La Rochefoucauld, author of Maxims. In the intervening four centuries, there have been just four family owners and, for a short seven-year period, a bank.
