Volvo has, for the first time, entered the competitive compact SUV segment with its XC40. It is the first model built on Volvo’s new compact modular architecture (CMA), which will also underpin all future ‘40’ series models. The entry-level SUV is aimed primarily at urban drivers and will compete with the likes of the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque, and the Volvo XC40 stands out in this crowded segment thanks to its striking design.
