Ultimate indulgence: Valentine’s Day

The roses can wait, but some pre-Valentine’s planning never goes amiss, especially if your sights are set on a special experience

A single flower and a cup of tea may be romantic enough for some; alternatively, a weekend of pampering would be a sure-fire winner

From overstuffed and overpriced restaurants serving boot leather steaks, to heart-shaped chocolates that melt on pillows, most couples reach a point where a lone rose and a cup of tea in bed feels plenty romantic enough.

This said, as Valentine’s Day is sandwiched nicely between the bleak days of January and the far-off hint of summer holidays, I consider it as good a time as any for a dose of indulgence.
