If you thought cruises were all sedate sails around well-known tourist hotspots and on-board salsa classes, then think again. Not only is the popularity of cruising skyrocketing in Ireland and Britain – with the most recent figures showing a record 1,789,000 passengers in 2015 – but a whole new demographic of customer is jumping aboard the trend for holidays at sea, thanks to the vast wealth of exotic and unusual itinerary options now on the market.
